IMPROVING OUR ECONOMY

Our economic recovery is not being shared equally among all New Mexicans--especially those with lower incomes who bear the greatest financial burdens. It’s critical that we support working families with a tax code that levels the playing field so every New Mexican can thrive. The bills we passed this session implemented policies proven to help lift families out of poverty, stimulate spending in local economies, and protect New Mexico's home-grown businesses and investments.

We must diversify our economy and leverage our competitive advantages like our recreational space, intellectual capital, and renewable technologies. I’ve fought for legislation that will bolster funding to the New Mexico Partnership so they can recruit companies to Albuquerque. I will continue to provide the leadership we depend on to get our economy back on track, and ensure our youth can come out of school with less debt and better job opportunities.
